So it seems my recent post on summer fashion sparked a huge debate about the appropriateness of flip flops in an office environment. I maintain that flips flops – yes even the fancy leather bejeweled versions – are not appropriate for the office.

Certainly, flip flops maintain a serious position in casual wardrobes. However, their comfort and ease have infiltrated business settings. I learned, having stated a position about flip flops on Twitter, that people are very attached to their flip flops.

My fashion advice is this: keep flip flops for the beach, farmer’s market, picnics and other great ‘off-duty’ activities. Just keep them out of the workplace.
