I had a chance to stop by Flaunt – a tradeshow by, and for, women. The show featured a range of goods and services offered by women entrepreneurs.
Carol McBee, founder of WECAN (Women Entrepreneurs Connecting and Networking) was pleased with both the crowds and the range of exhibitors. There were hundreds of women lined up prior to the doors opening, and the first 125 free giftbags were distributed within five minutes. In order to keep the momentum up through the day, Carol had another 125 giftbags available in the early afternoon.
I had a chance to wander around and see the various exhibitors. Not having any small children (or grandchildren) I skipped the kids’ exhibitors – although there were definitely some cool products available. So much has changed since my kids were small…
Local entrepreneurs captured my attention. Here are two I’d like you to meet.
Duke and Duchess Boutique offers custom designed sweet tables for many occasions. This is more than just cupcakes – this is a delectable mix of baked goods and sweet treats.

The other entrepreneur that caught my attention was The Makeup Art Space. Owner and creative director Gaylynne Fell provides a complete range of makeup services, including bridal, editorial, corrective and special effects.
She also offers custom-created makeup products for discerning clients. See her portfolio at makeupartspace.com.
