What gives women confidence? Power suit? Stilettos…perhaps with a red sole? A statement handbag?

Nope.

Turns out, women are most confident when they wear beautiful intimates. Bras, panties, teddies, all manner of underpinnings.

A new survey conducted by Sears Canada and Maru/Matchbox shows that more than 80 per cent of Canadian women feel that wearing a beautiful bra and panty set plays an important role in helping them feel confident and sexy.

The survey not only delved into the surprising impact our undergarments have on our self-esteem but also explored buying patterns of these bare necessities.

48% of Canadian women aged 18-34 have purchased ‘unmentionables’ for a special event (i.e. Valentine’s Day, first date, birthday, vacation, or anniversary)

Ladies, can we talk? About bras?

Every day, females over the age of about 12 struggle into uncomfortable contraptions made from fabric, elastic, foam and wires. Through the course of the day, the straps dig into shoulders (when they’re not falling down), the wires poke, the band constricts.
